The Top 10 FAQs
- Do you photograph weddings?
-
Nope. I specialize in contemporary portraiture. However, I do know lots of awesome wedding photographers, and I’m always happy to recommend them. Click here to get to the "Let's Talk" form, fill in the blanks, click on the buttons, and put “Looking for a wedding photographer” in the comments box. I’ll contact you, and give you recommendations based upon your needs.
- What kind of photography do you do?
-
Just about everything, except weddings, events, and newborns. I create portraits of children, families, tweens, teens, seniors, singles, couples, generations, and headshots/personal branding. Check out the Portfolio section for samples of my work.
- Do you do boudoir photography?
-
Absolutely!
In the past, Boudoir was all about fulfilling someone else's fantasy about who you were to them, for them.
Now, Boudoir is all about YOU, fulfilling your own vision of who YOU are, for YOURSELF.
What’s more attractive than someone who’s comfortable in their own skin?! What’s more empowering than capturing that in a portrait?!
And, for the record, I like to think of this genre as “body empowerment portraiture”.
- How do you keep private stuff….well, private?
-
When it comes to online privacy, I tend to regard the situation as my grandmother once explained to me about watching children: “They have all day to figure out how to get into trouble. You have 30 seconds, at most, to stop them.”
Dishonest people are much the same. They spend a lot of time looking for soft targets. I’ve spent time making the studio a hard target. So, what does this mean for your images and information?
- As of June 2020, I no longer back up images to “the cloud” as part of my workflow. Images are backed up to a minimum of three (3) removable digital memory devices.
- When my computer is not in use, I employ the “air gap” security method. I unplug it. No electricity. No internet connectivity. No way to communicate with the outside world.
- I use multiple layers of internet protection to prevent unauthorized access.
- I also now recommend that clients set up a temporary (if they want it to be), encrypted email address via ProtonMail.com. Communications between users of ProtonMail are confidential. Communications between ProtonMail and other email service providers are generally not.
- What do you charge?
-
The Booking Fee includes:

Payment plans are absolutely doable.
- What does the typical client spend with you?
-
Most clients land somewhere around $3700. It depends upon the client's needs. The collections offer the best deals, and most clients opt for collections, plus a piece of wall art or two, over a la carte images.
- Do you do only digitals?
-
The only service that is all digital is a Headshots/Personal Branding session. Everything else is printed, with the side benefit of a complimentary digital file of each purchased print.
- Do you offer discounts?
-
I offer a 10% discount to current, active members of BNI (Business Networking International) for their purchase of image collections and/or Wall Art. Verification through BNI Connect is required for discount.
I’m a Certified Military-Friendly business, and I offer a 15% discount to active and retired military personnel, and their spouses or partners for their purchase of:
- 3 or more images;
- Image Collections;
- and/or Wall Art.
I have service members in my family, and this is my way of saying “Thank You”. Valid ID is required for discount.
- What kind of payment plans do you offer?
-
You have options!
1. You can do a Pre-Paid Portrait Experience (think Portrait Lay-Away Plan!), where you pay installments to fit your budget before your session. Once you're all paid up, your session date and time are secured.
2. Or, you can save up and ask others to purchase gift certificates for your birthday, your anniversary, the holidays, and “just ‘cuz, dammit!”.
3. Or, you can set up a payment plan at your ordering appointment, once you've seen your images. (Same day image reveal is part of your session.) NOTE: You'll receive your images once you've paid in full for your order.I know, from personal experience, that Love and Guilt do NOT go together. When you look at your gorgeous portraits, you want to feel nothing but joy. I want you to feel nothing but joy.
Set up a Payment Plan or save up your shekels: Either way, you’re going to LOVE how you feel about yourself when you do, and your portrait experience will feel even more amazing because of it.
- Can I combine different kinds of portraits into one session?
-
Of course! We go over all of that during the Design Conversation.
If this is what you'd like to do, expect to have a longer portrait session and consider which Image Collection (6 -12 images is the typical investment) and/or Wall Art you'd like to have for your very own.
